Strategic Goal 1
Enhance Governance and Operational Effectiveness

1a. Review and enhance processes for ECNO to be relevant, agile and responsive.

Objectives:

  • Strengthen advocacy through engagement with Ministry and school board leadership.
  • Position ECNO as a sector authority in K-12 education in Ontario.
  • Develop succession planning framework.

1b. Foster diversity, ensure equity, cultivate inclusion, belonging, and empowerment.

Objectives:

  • Launch a DEI Leadership Advisory Group composed of at least six diverse voices.
  • Integrate a DEI lens into 100% of strategic decisions and program evaluations.

1c. Ensure continued financial stewardship and accountability.

Objectives:

  • Annual report to membership.
  • Effective communications such as ongoing dashboard.

Strategic Goal 2
Deliver Responsive Cost-Effective Programs and Services

2a. Explore global Generative AI practices and share emerging trends in IT operations, administration and/or pedagogy.

Objectives:

  • Identify and share community resources.
  • Provide training opportunities.
  • Issue micro credentials.

2b. Champion cybersecurity, data, and privacy support for school boards.

Objectives:

  • Support school boards with implementation of legislation and directives.
  • Expand Security and Privacy service to include assessment of administration/operation, student services, and Gen AI software.
  • Introduce PIA as a Service.
  • Support cyber aware culture building with school boards.
  • Identify opportunities for joint procurement of 24/7/365 Managed SOC services and support school boards in implementation and management.

2c. Continue to review, evolve and support existing services

Objectives:

  • Establish evaluation methods to review program efficacy and areas for change

Strategic Goal 3
Strengthen Engagement with the ECNO Community

3a. Complete and monitor the success of the vendor support program.

Objectives:

  • Create a baseline for vendor usage and track success.
  • Conduct annual survey with vendors and boards to determine areas for change.

3b. Develop a sustainable user community contact list.

Objectives:

  • All 76 member organizations are included.
  • Include all vendors.
  • Identify and expand to other interest holders (ie: post-secondary institutions).

3c. Develop and coordinate a member-driven coaching and experiential network.

Objectives:

  • Establish networking and shared experience engagements.
  • Host a retiree talent pool.
  • Develop a resource repository for members to share and access best practices.
  • Gather feedback on user experiences.
